* TANAH LOT AND MONKEY FOREST *

The first stop is at a shop specialising in Indonesian fresh and seawater pearls. The tour then leads you to the Pura Taman Ayun temple in Mengwi. Built in 1634, this temple is outstanding for its unique architecture andis situated in the middle of a lake. At Alas Kedaton, the holy monkey forest you can enjoy hundreds of little cheeky but sacred monkeys (feed them with peanuts available at the shops there!) Inside the cool forest, there is still the remains of the temple which is still used for propitiation ceremonies.
Finally, reach the coast line to admire the world famous temple of Tanah Lot for a spectacular view of the sunset. Tanah Lot was erected by the villagers in memory of the bramahn saint Nirartha, who is said to have talked to God during an entire night where the temple stands now.

Evening tour to witness the wonderful magic of the Kecak dance. Part of the famous Ramayana epic, it is performed on the amazing stage of the Denpasar Art Center by a cast of more than 100 dancers. The story is about the eternal fight between good and bad. In this case, the demon and the king of the monkeys Hanoman. The cast of the performance represents the monkey population willing to help their king. A very impressive dance without music, just different voices and hand clapping. Through the province of Tabanan we climb the narrow streets up to the romantic temple of Batukaru at the slopes of Mount Batukaru. The location of this 13th century temple is splendid. Enjoy the trip down the winding roads through stunning rice fields pass the village of Jatiluwih for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the paddies. After an optional stop at a shop for silver jewelry, we proceed towards the city of Klungkung, to visit “Kerta Gosa”, the royal palace of justice built in the 18th century. You can admire the ancient frescos that show a variety of the old methods of punishment. We continue along the coast, past a typical fishermens’ villages and salt production to the old village of Tenganan, situated at the foothills of majestic Mount Agung. This village is home to the “Bali Aga”, the original Balinese tribe and it is well known for its hereditary traditions, with its myteriously well kept secret cloaked for hundreds of years. Enjoy your lunch at beachfront Lotus Seaview resturant. In the afternoon, we continue on the panoramic roads overlooking the blue ocean and return back home on winding roads through shinning rice paddies at the slopes of Mount Agung.

This tour is for nature lovers. First visit is at Candikuning market. There are an overflowing variety of exotic spices, vegetables and flowers on display. We then pay a visit to “Pura Ulun Danu Bratan”, the temple of the watergods. On twisting roads you enjoy the beautiful view of the other 2 mountainlakes in Bedugul and then descend towards the north coast and then you can have a short stop at the Munduk waterfalls.after lunch we proceed to the typical restaurant on the black beach of Lovina. After lunch, visit the hot springs of Banjar, that are beautifully surrounded with lush flowers and dense vegetation. We then return to your hotel on country roads travelling through untouched landscape and traditional villages.
